There is a whole patch of blue ink in one of the corners of my shirt pocket (the shirt is blue & made of cotton) and I have tried rubbing alcohol, Soilove (stain remover product), blotting with hair spray, and there STILL IS A BLOTCH OF INK LEFT OVER !

So has anyone sucessfully removed an ink stain? Please let me know how!

  1. Try oven cleaner, thats my trick for bad stains, i promise it wont hurt your clothes. Also, dont dry it till you get the stain out cuz then the stain will be set in and much more dificult. Good luck.

  2. full strength liquid laundry detergent and a brush.  Repeat as needed.  Dry cleaners can do wonders on blue (sometimes red) ink stains; black ink is the super tough color.

As a last resort and the color better be color fast:  bar of Lava soap will take it out - - but would remove the dye in the shirt too if the color is absolutely not color fast.  Test on an inside seam/hem first before trying Lava on front of an item.

  4. mean green.. it's an industrial degreaser, but that's what printers use when they mess up a design on a t-shirt so they can remove it entirely..

it smells like death, but honestly will get any kind of stain off of your shirt  ;)

the best cheap stain remover is Shout, if that doesn't work then mean green or a similar industrial degreaser  might be your only hope..
