I have Microsoft Office 2007. I left for a long vacation outside of the country, when I came back all of my Microsoft Office was not working properly. When I try to open Word a message come out saying that "Word requires the file msointl.dll to run. Run setup again to assure proper installation." I tried downloading this file from the internet but it didn't work. Then I inserted the Micr. Office CD so that it would repair the problem but it still doesn't work. I tried removing Office from my computer and installing it again but it doesn't let me un-install it. I start college in a month and I NEED Microsoft Office Please somebody help me!!!

  1. Openoffice.org ! even better, faster and compatible with M$ Office! no worries :)

  2. Very few people really need Microsoft Office. you can get Open Office with a free download disk of Linux from Ubuntu.com.

I find that Open office does everything I want MS office to do, and the operating system runs faster, and comes with a lot more free functions.

Caution, some computers have devices not supported by Linux, or not well supported by Ubuntu Linux. One should download the install disk and put it on a DVD or 700MB CD so that one can first confirm that it is well supported on your machine. Instructions are on Ubuntu forums.

Open office can be run directly from the CD or DVD, but the DVD version will not store files on your hard drive.

To keep your MS operating system and software you set up your computer to dual boot, Ubuntu Linux and windows. That way you can still use anything that windows will run.

I do have Vista on this computer but never find a good reason to use it. I find Ubuntu Linux does all I want it to do.

  3. Go to:

    http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-file...

There you'll find the dll file you need. Just copy and paste it in the correct directory.

    (usually it will be

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\office11\1033\)

  4. try installing office 2007 service pack 1 it will replace a lot of them files

maybe even the missing ones if your lucky

even if you do get it working install this anyway
