Question:

PLEASE HELP Is my cockatiel dying?

For the past month, my lutino has had a sore on his foot. It would open up and bleed, and then I'd clean it with peroxide.

This morning, the opposite foot was swollen, so I cut off the metal band on his foot since his foot was turning blue.

His stool is completely clear liquid. I don't think he's eating?

He also fell off his perch and couldn't climb back up to the perch from the bottom of the cage.

Should i bring him to the vet?

Is it worth it - do you think he'll be so panicked he'll die from stress?

Sorry for all the errors and incorrect spelling, I'm just in a hurry to bring my dog to the vet and I don't know if I should bring him along.

Extra Info:

He's about 10 years old, and his companion died 2 years ago, and righ away we bought a new one since he was in a panic, but the new bird isn't very friendly with him. She could be the source of some anxiety.

thanks for any help

  2. Yes bring your cockatiel to the vet asap!

  3. Peroxide is very drying, you need to go to the vet and get him antibiotics and something better to clean the wound with.

  4. take him to the vet,

my cockatiel recently died about 2 weeks ago, she didnt have the same symptoms tho, i tok her out of her cage to give her a bath and she had a heart attack and died. she was 10 years old too. i guess thats pretty old for a cockatiel.

take him to the vet tho. its always worth it.
