PLEASE HELP ME!!! RELAXER PROBLEMS!!!

Question

i put a relaxer in my hair last night and i didnt use gloves because it very difficult for me to use the gloves doin it. so i vaseline on my hands and put the relaxer in using my hands with the vaseline on it and now my finger nails on my right hand are yellow is it because of the relaxer?

I called my aunt who is a hair stylist, and she said some of the other stylist have this happen to them she does not, but she said that your nails might have been burned, nail polish reaction, or a body chemistry reaction.  In any case she said don't worry it will wear off  and you won't die (smile).
