OMG...this is my dilema. One moment I'm on imdb.com and the next thing I know "Antivirus XP 2008" has downloaded telling me that I have infected files, etc. I have to restart a gazillion times. I check if anyone has had this problem and yes there are. I've tried roguefix....in safe mode, nothing. Bleeping computers...website, won't work, I keep getting rerouted to a Canadian pharmacy website and I can't even seem to access malware.org

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME REMOVE THIS IRRITATING PROGRAM!?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, I'D BE SO THANKFUL.

Thanks

Off the record, my computer is Windows XP and I've had it for more than 8 years now I think...and since my antivirus program expired, I got a free edition of AVG.

  1. XP has a reboot capability. Use it because all those patent antivirus programs either don't recognize real viruses, or they only remove the ones their own company created to attack you. And that Canadian Pharmacy is actually in Louisiana. Make a flash drive or CD backup of all your My Document files (if you still can, and you should weekly anyway) and a paper list of all your net downloads you actually use, such as Word Viewer if you don't have WORD. Then go to All programs>Computer restore>Advanced Procedures>Destructive Restoration. This will re-format your hard drive, wiping out all viruses, trojans, spyware, etc. with one swing of the mighty sword! (Don't mess with the partition!) Then start over with essentially a brand new computer, making choices you now know are best. Regards, Larry.

  2. Ok i had this exact same problom.I think you might want to print/write these instructions down.

    #1.Turn off computer

#2.Turn on computer, but once you hit that button press F8 rapidly until a screen with many options comes up.

#3.Move up with the arrow keys to where it says "Safe Mode With Networking"Then press Enter 2 times.

#4.Then a ugly screen will come up with letters and numbers and all that stuff.

#5.Then log into your account normally

#6.Then a thing will come up when your logged on and it will say "are you sure you want to get on this?"

Jsut click yes (it's telling you that this mode does not have sound or printing"

#7.Then go to start menu>run>type in c:\program files

#8.The right click the Anti Virus 08 Thing by right clicking it then delteing it.

And then poer off and power on normally!

And you should be set to go!!!!!!

    Hope this helped

  4. Download and scan with the the following free software in order one by one, delete what ever they find should leave your PC free of infections:

    Malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

    SuperAntispyware: http://www.download.com/SUPERAntiSpyware...

    SmitfraudFix: http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.e...
