MY guineaPIG KEEPS SNEEZING!!!!!!! HE SNEEZES ABOUT 11 TIMES IN A HALF HOUR!!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM????????????????????????????? please help i am scared for his life!!

Sneezing is the body's way of clearing the nasal passages if they are irritated.

If your piggie is just sneezing and there are no other symptoms like runny nose, crusty eyes, laboured breathing, etc. he probably just has some dust in his nose.

If your piggie DOES have other symptoms, he needs to see a vet straight away.

he might be alleric to the bedding in his cage or somthing in the room.Or he might have a cold.But if i where you i would call a vet or take him to a pet store.

What kind of bedding do you use? Think about switching.

How old is the pig? If you are really, truly concerned call a small animal vet and make an appointment.

He might just have something stuck in his nasal passages. If he has discharge from him nose, you might have him looked by a vet. He won't die.

it might be dust but its probably a cold. is there any discharge from the nose? well if so then it might be more of a sign of a cold.

if i were u i would call ur vet. they would have the best info. hope this helps!

i have three guinea pigs and ive had them for four years this is posibly a cold but this happened to my guinea pig i took him to the vet he was alergic to his bedding u should have him get a check up i love guinea pigs hope i helped?

Could be Snuffles, deady upper resp infection. Hopefully it is bedding. NEVER use CEDAR. Cedar is deadly to all small animals and is even bad for people. I have been a woodworker for years and can tell you cedar dust is very bad for the lungs. smells good though. Take your pig to the vet. Better safe than sorry.

whoever typed that was mean and heartless you should check the beding it could have alafalfa in its uper respritory system if so its just clearing its nose but you should take it to a vet if it has a cold i'm truly sorry but its chance's of living are slim (it happend to my guniea pig).I hope i diden't make it worse.

If he is sneezing a lot you should consider going to the vet.  This is particularly true if he has any eye discharge, is eating less, or appear puffed up.  Guinea pigs do not get colds like humans, they get upper respiratory infections (URIs).  These are deadly if untreated.

Really, the cost of a vet visit and any medications is minor compared to the joy and love you get from your pig.  Please take him to the vet because you are so concerned.  Guinea pigs go downhill very quickly and do not get better without intensive treatment.

just sounds like a cold.... but they can be harmful for small animals. if your to worried about it or it gets worse take it to the vet. Good luck!

he could have a cold or the flu...

my guniea pig had the flu and he ended up dying

if it is the flu or cold the vet should be able to fix it but it will enormously expensive.

im serious. we payed like a 100 for minamal treatment and he died anyways.

although there is always the hope he'll get better on his own

they say if a guinea pig starts sneezing you should get em to the vet right away as colds in piggys can quickly turn to pneumonia...however, mine sneezes a fair amount, especially when he is down at my flat (he gets moved between my flat, my boyfriends house and my parents house all the time) and he never gets ill, so i think with him its probably allergies, yours could be too with it being summer and all, but you should def take him to the vet to be sure :) good luck :)
