  1. It might be OK for you to feed your pet this way but then again it might not.. you dont know what kind of bacteria these insects are carrying, and however unlikely it may be, there is the possibility of an insect like this passing unhealthy bacteria to your pet

You wont want to hear this but in all honesty, if you cant afford to feed the tarantula you should pass it to someone who can, you shouldnt own any pet if you cant look after it properly. This goes for any animal whether its a tarantula, cat, budgie, goldfish or whatever..

  2. Like others said as a owner myself of this type and others it's to risky.

The best thing to do is buy maggots none dyed will cost you about £1.50-£2 for about a pint and all you do is place them in the fridge when you have finished feeding 2-4 of them to your spider that's what i do with mine and can last weeks-months.

As 34 spiders of various sizes like i have food can become expensive by wasting most of it by the food dying or changing to moths, and putting Mealies/Silks/Wax/Maggots even crickets will save you a fair bit of money as it's more cost effective to you.

Or buy a tub of either wax or silks and breed them yourself it very  easy to do just mail me will forward how to.

Your Tarantula is it Euthlus sp red with orange tuff on rump and orange ring round spinneret's similar to a bulls eye or the chilean rose.

  3. I do not advise you feed it anything you caught yourself, as they could contain pesticides or parasites that could kill your pet.

The crickets should be the cheapest part.  I usually see them for a dollar for a dozen.  You can get them at Petco, Petsmart, most other reptile/invert pet stores, or even bait shop crickets will do.  2-3 crickets a week should be enough to keep it fed.

I also recommend that you read this link, and make sure you understand how to take care of it.

If you don't think you can afford to take care of it, you might want to wait until you have more money available.

Chilean flames (Euthalus sp.) are neat tarantulas.  They are not as docile as Chilean Roses (Grammostola rosea), and can be quite feisty, so I don't recommend you try to handle it, but can otherwise be kept the same way.

    Good luck!

  4. no. you get your feed from pet shops I would not get them from the garden
