Hi, I am 12 years old and do not have braces. I only have 1 baby tooth more to lose and I have a question. My 5th tooth in on my right side is extremely loose (half is half isn't) and I am not sure if it is a baby tooth or not. I don't want to pull it out if it is an adult tooth, but it is causing my a LOT of pain and agony. What should I do? I don't go to the dentist for a couple of weeks and he is never availible. WHAT DO I DO????

  1. If it is loose see if it like your other regular teeth. If it is loose, at twelve, it is probably a baby tooth. If it is really lose, try to work it out.If it is your permanant tooth, you probably cant pull it out like you would a baby tooth because of the root.

  2. At 12 years old, your 2nd permanent molar may have erupted.

If this is the case, the back 2 teeth(molars) are your permanent molars and the one in front of those is a baby molar.

The only way likely way it would be a loose permanent tooth is if you had sustained some sort of injury.

Check the eruption chark link below.  Then pull out your loose baby molar.

  3. Relax. Its a baby tooth. Adult teeth that come in won't be loose unless you injured your mouth. If it's loose its a baby tooth. What you should do is keep wiggling it till in releases and falls out. The pain your feeling is well rooted roots and nerves in a healthy mouth. That's great. Rinse your mouth out with salt water ( do not swallow the salt water mixture ) to reduce swelling. You can handle the pain. Good luck.

  4. go to a different dentist. im sure its not an adult tooth unless you have done something to make  it loose

  5. Go to different dentist and take some tynonel for the pain or goggle yuor mouth with warm salt water to stop the pain my brothers tooth hurt and he goggled some salt water and it stoped hurting
