Ok so because of the little room I have to work with I have to make this fast. This all statrted with something that kept making our computer freeze for no apparent reason. No virus software would find the problem. This became a problem when important things were happening on the computer like when I was just updating iPod which is now bricked (For now) I restarted the computer and started update again along with virus search to see if I could find the problem again. IT FROZE AGAIN. I was extremely frustrated by now so when I rebooted this time I hit F10 while it was starting, which on the HP computer I was using took me to system restore. I was going to restore to a point hopefully before the virus while it was doing the backup or whatever it said, guess what? Power Outage. Once it was over I went back to try and do the restore inside of windows (This is XP by the way), No luck, "Windows can not start because hal.dll cannot be found" so I end up doing the restore in the HP thingy. It finished and all of my data is GONE. I was expecting it, but I didn't really think it over. Most of the stuff I can probably redownload. But I cant get my internet connection to set up (Wireless). PLUS ALL OF MY PHOTOS, VIDEOS, OVER $500 IN ITUNES, AND EVERYTHING IS GONE. PLEASE SOMEBODY TELL ME IF THERE IS SOMEWAY TO RECOVER THE DATA! IT SAID IT WAS RECOVERING FROM A PARTION OR SOMETHING SO I FIGURE ITS GOTTA BE SOMEWHERE! PLEASE PLEASE HELP!

  1. well the only way as i think is to restore you computer to a time that was everything ok on it.. you can do that by going to start>run> and type in restore>hit ok

the start system restore program from the folder which will pop from that run command

    hope this helps

  2. There are complex technical solutions to most of your problems, which some enterprising nerd will no doubt explain in detail.  I'd say just google "hard disk restore windows".

I will tell you that, one time only, you can re-download everything from iTunes that you've previously purchased, I think you just have to contact Apple.
