  2. Imprisonment or death.

  3. i know they really don't like to keep baby girls alive.... i think that may have changed now....

  4. Additional children will result in large fines: families violating the policy are required to pay monetary penalties and might be denied bonuses at their workplace

  5. Official consequences include fines for the couple, and even loss of work if the parent works in a governement job.  Government benefits can also be denied.

Unofficially, there are reports of women being forced to abort, and forced sterilizations.  Because sons traditionally take care of their parents, but daughters take care of their in-laws, having a son is preferred.

  6. The policy is enforced at the provincial level through fines that are imposed based on the income of the family and other factors.

I do not believe parents are put to death over the issue. What I do know is that they kill the babies.. So I think it's safe to say they kill unwanted children themselves. I know they kill girls for sure!

However, I watched a program the other day which stated.

If the parents lost their only child they were allowed to have second.

Seems simple, but I do not believe it was allowed prior to this change being put into place.

BUT I found this article which states that many people are now allowed to have two children...very interesting.  http://geography.about.com/od/population...

  7. Ever wonder why there are only girl children to adopt from China or if there are boys there are only a few? If you have more than one you have to give one up. Makes you wonder what happens to the poor mothers that have twins or more. Could you choose which child you would like to keep?
