PLEASE HELP!!! about Sony DCR-TRV260

Question

okay so i wanna upload the videos from my camcorder [Sony DCR-TRV260] i have Windows XP & i installed the drivers so the usb or the coputer whatever would recognize it but it never works like everythings installed i tryd going on "my computer" to see if it was there but nothing nothing comes up i tried looking up connectd devices but nothing & i even bought a new usb cable (firewire) so please i'll give 10 points to who ever can help me please thanks! & this camcorder records with a tape not dvd/cd

USB cables are not firewire cables, totally different things. So if you have confused the 2 then that might be your problem. I just plugged my camcorder into my pc via a firewire and it showed up in my computer and my studio 11 opened auto, so maybe your firewire port isn't enabled.

Sony DCR-TRV260, a digi-8 vcam must be DV~Firewire400**-connected to pc to upload video thru video capture or video editing* application while vcam is ON PLAYBACK.  Before cable purchase** check PC for DV port {VCAM@4pin=>firewireCABLE=>PC@4/ 6pin?}. If none, install firewire card: pci for pc or pcmcia / express card for laptop.

video editing process- XP/wmm2

      >>> open wmm- start/all programs/wmm->TASK pane

1. Capture video stream** - editing software remotely controls vcam operations

2. Edit- drag/drop video files->timeline & enhance w/effects, transition, music & titles

3. Finiish (render)- save Movie (OK for youTube), also, save Project.msmmw file

      >>> Share=>burn to DvD, use DvD authoring app, e.g.,DvD Flick or Nero
