I'm 5'5 and weight 112 pounds. I checked and it's normal for me.

What would be the best exercise/diet that won't make me lose weight but will keep my stomach stay flat?

  1. do Pilate's they work your core, toning those muscles so they stay lean and keep your belly flat

  2. Keeping a food journal really does help.  It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.

Make a few small changes - walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days. Do more sports and less TV and computer.

Start a weight lifting routine. It will help increase your metabolism and make you feel and look better in so many ways. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall.

In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish. Drink plenty of water. You will begin to see changes.

Check out websites about nutrition, exercise, weight training, etc.  Here are a couple of  helpful links.

  3. Well I'm about the same proportions as you so I'm going to tell you what keeps me in shape.

    1. Eat healthy. I know this is obvious, but once you start on a regular basis, you start to not want junk food anyway. Eat light meats like chicken and turkey. Eat smaller portions and drink plenty of water in between chews. Snack less during the day because they add up. Take vitamins (a good one, particularly one that your doctor may have suggested.)

    2. Get active in some way. I'm not saying exercise everyday, just take up a hobby that will keep you active. You can do dancing, a sport you like, jump-roping, karate, yoga, boxing, roller skating, etc.

    3. Stay hydrated. I know I kind of said this already, but it actually can be critically important after a while. Stay off the sport water drinks like  Vitamin Water a bit, and drink water and milk and orange a lot. Cranberry juice is good for you too if you need something sweet. If you're over age, drink red wine every once in a while because it's good for your heart.

    4. Take care of your body. Teeth, face, nails, feet, and all. These little things help in the long run, trust me. Also watch your posture. When buying new product for your body, pay attention to irritation you're not sure where it came from, because it may have been from your new product.

  4. hey i' mthe same. it's fine if someones gona judge u on ur fatness they arn't your friends. just you know, eat light

  5. Leg lifts or crunches.
