PLEASE HELP with itunes softare update

ive trie to buy the ipod touch update 2.0 with an itunes giftcard and i have 15$ on it so i dont understand why its not working....what do i do!!!!????????????i need help without using a credi card cuz my parents r crazy

Is it possible that the itunes will not accept gift cards for updates?

Its like how HMV allow student discount for everything except hardware (e.g. ipods and games consoles becuase they are the most expensive).

Try and buy one song, if it works then theres no problem with your card, its probably just the update they want you to pay for.
