  2. If you say you are ussly a good shooter the best thing to do is to just take a brake for about a day or 2 go to bed early then next morning you will be good as new

  3. Well after reading this you should just get some rest for tomorrow. Wake up really early and get to the gym. The best way to get out of a shooting funk is to shoot some more. I usually get to the gym early and start shooting from really close. Make sure you have a nice arc in your shot. Try to make each shot nothing but net. After 50-100 shots take 2 steps back and shoot another 50-100. They shoot 50-100 free throws. Your aim should be pretty much on target. If not, take a break and start the routine again.

    Things to focus on:

Keep a nice arc on the shot

Nice Follow through (Flick the wrist after each shot)

Make sure your elbow in and not flaring out.

Make sure your guide hand isn't interfering.

    When in doubt, remember BEEF

    Make sure your BALANCED

Your EYES are focused on the rim

    ELBOW is in

And FOLLOW through on the shot.

  4. your shooting is bad because it is all mental for 1 and you need to be more positive . PRACTICE 2 that is most important

  5. Keep on shooting and always shoot in the same format, If you are strugling try making a new shoot like me my outside shooting was not good for like a month so I started to shoot fadeaway's , now I have my outside shoot and my inside shoot

  6. Of course. I have "Off Days" all the time. Even NBA players have off days. Just try to stay confident in your shot and don't get frustrated. Also try to shoot your way out of the slump.

  7. First of all chill, seriously I have a drill that I used, this will defiantly help you because it help me from shooting all weird and playing center to becoming a point guard (really a point guard)

    Here are the steps.

    1. Stand 3 feet away from basket.

    2. do beef in order

2.a. Balance, make feet shoulder width apart and make sure you feel balanced

2.b. Elbow, make an L shape with you elbow, and hold ball like you are going to shoot, remember to put your ring finger and your index finger (not middle, index finger) on the seams of the ball to get the most rotation.

2.c. Eyes look at the basket, vision the ball going right over the basket and shoot the ball, just so it goes over the front of the rim.

2.d. Follow through, keep your arm in the air and wrist bent until the ball hits the floor.

    3. Do this for about 20 min before every game, practice etc., every time you make 10 in a row take a step back, if you miss even once, go back to the beginning.

The point of this drill is to practice perfect, perfect, perfect form. I don;t know what you do, but if you go in there shooting from the free throw line and trying to make 3's right away, you will have an off day, now sure it's normal to have an off few days like your having, but if you practice this drill before, you will never have an off day, I guarantee.

Oh and when your are off, drive in, your never miss lay-ups unless you suck and it doesn't make sense to only pass or miss shots, that's no fun and that's what you play basketball for, fun.

    Good Luck, Chano

  8. What up Andres,

First without any details can't tell you much about the mechanics of your shot- but if it was effective before- you just got to get your rhythm back.

Remember last year in the playoffs when Ray Allen was off (Even though i'm a Lakers fan and i don't like the Celtics- Ray is one of the greatest shooters in the history of the game) and he went through quite a few games when his shot was off- so i think part of it could be mental.  You just got to keep shooting your way out of your slump.

Usually when i have an off game- i just go back to the gym and work.  i'll go shoot jumpers by myself for an hour or so- and if you're a decent shooter- you should be able to start to get an idea what is making your shot off- and also be able to start to get a rhythm back.

So just keep working.  And when you're playing a game if your shot is off- just work on the other stuff- sometimes when i'm struggling with my jumper- a layup off a cut - or off a rebound gets me going... and i'll just focus more on the defensive end.  Making a jumpshot is not the only way to contribute to a team.

    Good luck,

    Nickster
