My health insurance is provided by and paid for by my employee.

They are changing insurances effective Sept 1st; I'm scheduled for

surgery on Sept 8th through the other company. How does this work? Do my deductibles that I've paid roll over? Will they cover a surgery after 7 days on the new insurance??

  1. Absolutely this is not the place to be asking.  Find the appropriate person to be asking, your supervisor ought to be able to point you in the right direction and get whatever assurances pertaining to the matter in writing.  There could be some lag time when new coverage comes into effect.  If you have the option, perhaps you could delay the surgery date till you are certain it's covered.

    Good luck.

  2. Contact the company that carries your current insurance. There is probably an 800 number on your card and/or the documentation from your employer.

  3. call your insurance comany. AND the new one to determine. detail on paper who you talk with and what they tell you may also help. Talk with your empoyer too, they may have an answer or someone who handles insurance that can answer your question.

  4. Is there an HR person at your company? Who is in charge of insurance? I would talk to them or maybe call the new company's help/info line and ask them.
