  1. Calm down!!!! Remember this thought "How would I eat an elephant?"  Answer:  "A bit at a time".  This is how you must approach this challenge in your exams.  Study one part of your subject at a time, learn it and then go onto the next part.  Good luck and I hope you hear from someone who has gone through this subject and can assure you of the outcome.  x*x

  2. Computer jobs are NOT going oversees as much as everyone says...tech support jobs, sure. But nothing you need a degree for.

In fact, there is a serious talent shortage in the IT field right now...probably because people keep saying there aren't any jobs. I'm in the software development and consulting area...and if you are good, get in now. There is a lot of money to be made.

  3. Pray for the answer to come to you from a higher source.

  4. I received my degree in computer science in Jan 2006 and have yet to even find unskilled work. The longest job I've held since then was 3 weeks because the economy is so obliterated here. I worked at a computer shop for minimum wage and no benefits for that 3 weeks. Having my degree has actually made it harder to find unskilled work because I get skipped over for someone they know will definitely work for less without asking.

As for the thing about tech support jobs mostly being the ones going overseas, many but not all of the ones overseas are tech support, part of the huge problem though is for a lot of people tech support is their foot in the door or their "experience" to get someone to look at them for a higher job, losing so much of our tech support jobs is hard to deal with for a lot of people.

  5. just my take on IT jobs - yes more jobs are going offshore, but the high level jobs still reside in the US.  So if you are doing consulting, management and etc or if you are highly specialized, you can still find a job here.  Programming jobs are definitely going offshore so if you intend on going into programming with your degree, you should think twice.
