How do you make this so that it's a HORIZONTAL stretch of 2 (across the x axis)

y = 1/x

I know how to do this one: 1/x

It said to make this so that its a VERTICAL stretch (by 3) and that would be 3/x becaue you multiply by 3. but i dont know how to do it so that you make it a HORIZONTAL stretch...CONFUSED!! help?

  1. r u sure it was a stretch not a shrink? because i was taught that if c (in this case 2): if c>1 its a horiz shrink and if c<1 its a horiz stretch.

    well wat ur suppose to do is divide x by c where y=f(x/c)

    y=1/(x/2)

    y= 2/x

    im not a good explainer. but im not quite sure
