PLEASE SOME ONE HELP ME WITH THIS QUESTION?

Question

Can someone please give me some info. on GIGATRIBE? How does it work? Do you have to show your IP or let anyone see it?? If they do see your IP can't they hack your system and get your personal info or you exact location of your address?? I would like to use it if it does not show my personal info please help tell me everything you know Please Thank you

Just download LimeWire.It is probably a better and safer file shareing network.I have used it with no problems.As for personal information with your IP or internet protocol location,it is always visibile by every website,it is your computer's cyber finger print,and anyone at anytime can "hack" or intrude your computer at anytime.Just constantly change your internet protocol location or use a static connection.A proxy will help as well.Good luck.

Gigatribe is a private peer to peer network that allows you to share files directly from your pc  - all transfers are encrypted. As far as I know it doesn't hide your IP address - for that you need to use a VPN solution such as Hotspot Shield (free)

Though it seems to be secure but there is nothing secure on Net. So, use only what you need.

If you still want to share your file. There might be many other options. Choose any Secure File Hosting Web Site and use it for better securities.

No. Nowadays, Microsoft and Yahoo together to secure all user information. IP address is not necessary to be shown out. If outsiders knew your IP address, they will not able to gain access in your network and can't extract any bytes of information from your computer. Your personel info will be only shown out if Yahoo or Microsoft have the clearance from yourself. To avoid outsider gain access into your computer, you can go my computer and right click at Shared Document. Then, click properties. After that, you click 'sharing' tab button and disable the option of 'share this folder on the network'. I know all of this because I'am part time computer programmer.
