WHAT is a contemporary equivalent as in this question? I honestly can't figure it out and I've been told different things.

"Look, in particular, at the passages he quotes in paragraph 3. Where would you find their contemporary equivalents?"

I'm not sure what the question is asking me to do - and I don't have a teacher to ask, as I haven't started school yet. Am I supposed to paraphrase the passages, or compare them to a different instance?

  1. Sorry-you didn't include the passage, and I'm not psychic, so; can't help you.

  2. Contemporary equivalent refers to analyzing a word or phrase that describes something in the past and finding an example of how it applies to the present time.

  3. I'm not sure where the "passage" comes from, but it looks to me like it may be something historical and your teacher wants you to compare it to something in the present.
