Ok, so here's the deal.

Last year I tried out for varsity volleyball, and becasue of a few prior injuries, I did not make the team. I have practiced every day ever since my failure at tryouts until I was finally ready to make the team again this year. As it turns out, Our school v-ball coach left, and for numerous reasons, we will most likely not haev a girls volleyball team this year. I am CRUSHED. After so much hard work my chances are gone. Then I realized, Hey! There are other teams in Gainesville! My best friend and I would like to play together, but are having a hard time finding a team. We could possibly joion another school's team, but it would be preferred to join more of a "club". Where could we join? We were thinking about the Girls Club volleyball.... has anyone ever played for them? were they fun and competative?

are there any other club type organizations in Gainesville, Florida, we could join? We are devastated by our school's failure but won't let that stop us.

  1. A great resource for this would be the USA Volleyball web site. look for the link that says "Wanna Play" on the USAV.com site. From there, you should be able to click on a map to find your region.

It looks like you will be in the Florida region, at this web site...

    http://www.usavfl.org/

From that site, click the Juniors link...

    http://www.usavfl.org/JuniorsFP.htm

And that will get you started.... good luck!

  2. Your request is very specific so it probably won't yield many answers. Below I've listed two "clubs", one being the Junior Olympics and the other is Blue Lightning which is a club team in your area. I live in FL too and have trouble finding good clubs. The Junior Olympics is a good choice and looks good if you want to play in college too or it's just an all around good experience. That club team looks okay too, I don't know much about it but it says it's in Gainesville so you can check that out. Hope it helped a little. Have fun.
