1. Consuls were men elected by the Centuriate Assembly that were granted executive power in the Roman Republic.

The dictator was a sole ruler elected by the Senate in times of crisis instead of the regular two Consuls.

    Plebeians were simply commoners.

Tribunes were plebeians who were elected to represent the peasants' interests in the Centuriate Assembly.

Patricians were the aristocratic upper class.

  2. I didn't do my assigned reading, so I don't know that a consul is one of the two people elected by the Roman Republic's Senate to run Rome.

I also forgot to read about how a dictator was elected during times of war to make the fast decisions that war requires.

I also didn't read about (and didn't learn how to spell) plebeian, which is a Roman citizen not of noble birth.

Which means I don't know that a tribune is a position given to plebeians to give them representation in the Roman Senate, and that plebeians eventually gained the power of veto.

I also don't know, and my question was cut off before I could ask about patricians, which were Roman nobles.
