im a 13 year old trying out for the CTY john hopkin spatial ability test. i took all the subtests and got all the answers right except for the perspective test.

http://cty.jhu.edu/ts/pesamp.html

that's the link for the directions on how to take the test.

i alreayd read the directions to taking that perspective test but i still don't get it. there's a front view and a right view of objects but i don't understand why, when you look at it from the right view, some balls are closer adn then some other balls are farther apart.

when i look at it, they all look the same as they do when i look at it from the front view.

can u please help? thanks so much

    im 13 too

    that test is pretty cool

  2. Hey, that's a tough test!

Well, I can't "see" the answers. I need to think it through.

So, for example, in the last question, on that page, we see a large light ball next to a small light ball. That means from whatever angle we are viewing it, the balls are seen next to each other, but one is much closer.

So, looking at the front view, we have to imagine looking at the balls in the front view from each angle. are there any where the balls would be right next to each other, but one would be quite far away and the other quite close?

In item #2, one of the black balls is missing. So try to figure out what angle would have one ball covering another ball. Think of the balls as being in a cube. The balls that are larger in front view are closer, so they will be toward the bottom of the square in the top view. Like if they were in a cube and you pulled the cube forward so that the top was facing you.

  3. im sorry but i dont understan that friggin test!!!!!!! whats the point of it??
