  1. Let's see. You have roughly, a 67 gallon tank. Water about 8.3 lbs/gallon- so you're only talking about just under 560 lbs. It should be just fine! If you are worried, find a blueprint of your building and be sure to place it somewhere that has a good amount of structural reinforcement or a load-bearing beam beneath it. That is totally filled. Half way would only weigh around 280 lbs.

I have a 120 gallon in my place- hasn't fallen through the floor yet!

  2. no it should be fine but for the capacity of your tank just www.google.co.uk it to find the results good luck :)

  3. when full to the top

    254.851619328 litres

    67.3246753 US gallons

    51 705.3506 US teaspoons

so when full it weighs about 254.851619328 KG

    thats 561.851645 pounds

just half these numbers for a half full tank

  4. Well if your house or apartment is two story it might be to heavy. But if your house is a one story theres no problem.

  5. man don't have a tank that size in your bedroom,

has danger all over it, i have a tank same size and when full off water thy waigh a ton, not safe.

  6. 4 ft. x 1.5 ft. x 1.5 ft = 9 cubic feet

    9 cubit feet = 67.32 gallons

So if you fill it halfway, it would be 33.66 gallons

A gallon of water is about 8.34 lbs.

    33.66 gallons x 8.34 lbs. = 280.724

So in total your tank would be 280.724 lbs.  Or 127.6 kg.

I don't know how strong your bedroom floor is, but if a 280 lb. man can stand on the floor, then your tank can too.  Invite someone over and ask him to stand in the corner?  Haha.

  7. What do you plan to keep in that tank?  I don't think it would fall throw the floor unless you live in an old home that is falling apart.  You know how much a good pool table weights 800 - 1000 LB.  No one thinks twice about putting that in their house or even on the 3rd floor of their home.  Well maybe some do.

Defiantly keep it on the floor. Unless you can find an aquarium stand for a tank that large.

  8. fish man's weights and measures are correct. It much depends on your stand and how it spreads the weight across the floor. If the tank stand has four legs think carefully, but if it is a cabinet that spreads the weight evenly that's much less a problem. Also you want the weight cross wise to the floor joists.

254.83Kg isn't much different to two adults in a double bed, it's not that heavy. Your main consideration is making sure it can't be tipped or broken as that's a lot of water coming through the ceiling :0)
