  1. It truly depends on the child.  Both my brother and I had November birthdays and we started Kindergarten when we were 4 years old.  It did not hinder us in any way.  We were both ready for it.  For my brother they did testing to make sure he was ready for school.  I would say talk to the school and the teacher.  If your child was already in pre-K I would think that it would be a smooth transition, but do not hold a child back just because of age.

  2. Everyone I know that was moved ahead regrets it.  They were the last to mature emotionally and physically, they struggled with being smaller in sports, and they had a hard time adapting socially.  I was a Sept, baby, and my parents kept me home an extra year.  I am so grateful, because I never had to struggle to keep up.

  3. It really depends on her ability.  Girls in general are usually ready for kindergarten by age 5.  I held mine back with an early September birthday - not because of intelligence but I was not sure they would sit and listen.  That worked out well for us.  If you wonder, contact the local school and see what they say.  They usually have a list of things that the child needs to know before they go and they also do pre-admission testing (usually the first day or two of the school year).

  4. send her because i am a really late august birthday i was glad my mom sent me because i was ready
