  1. you are not about to run out of memory..and if you think thats not enough you can always add more.

  2. OH. You got confused there.

The 250 GB is the permanent memory (hard disk). While the 2GB memory is volatile memory (RAM). They are two separate components on your computer.

Your computer has 250 GB of hard disk, and 2 GB of RAM. You can store files, music, movies, photos on your hard disk, but you typically do not work directly with RAM. RAM is for the machine.

In short, there is no problem with your computer at all.

  3. That's probably your RAM capacity rather than your Hard Drive capacity that you're looking at. You're not about to run out, don't worry about it.

  4. Will other things in the background allways running . the more applications you run the more memory it takes and once you exit the application , the memory capacity will increase. it's basically how computer memory works , nothing wrong with you're computer.

Hold these three button to tell what's running the background.

ALT+CTRL+Delete , when task maneger come's up click the "Processes" tab on top there should be list of things running but don't exit it or anything you need those to run you're computer.

You can add more RAM (random access memory) to allways increase you're memory capacity.

  5. The best thing would be to go to the Dell website http://support.dell.com/support/topics/t... and get into an instant on line chat with a Dell specialist and ask them that question because if that is not normal they may be able to help you out.  and if it is normal they can tell you it is.  Just go to the above link and click on basic support and ask them that question.  Hope this works for you it normally works for me.

  6. Memory is RAM what you are talking about and it only has a life for as long as your computer is turned on.

Your hard drive is called storage not memory and this is where all your programs and data reside. You aren't running out of that.

Enjoy your new computer there's nothing wrong with it.
