k, well, i recently became a vegetarian and im really confused. Since i turned veg, my periods have been EXTREMELY light and lasted like, 2 days of basically spotting. If any of you are vegetarians it would help if you could say how long yours normally lasts. Also, i normally have pains that hurt pretty bad, now i have no pains at all. I just read a question about this and i was wondering if anybody knew if this was normal. Please dont say anything about being pregnant though cuz thats not a possibility. PLZ help!!!!! It would be best if oyu rae a vegetarian. Thanx!

  1. There's no reason why going vegetarian would cause your periods or cramps to lessen. Check with a nutritionist to make sure you're getting the right amounts of nutrients. Good luck.

  2. that happened to me too, but mine are kinda irregular so its hard to tell if it was me going vegetarian or not

your periods are light and short...i wish i had that.

anyways i turned vegetarian about 5 months ago, the first three were almost nonexistant. they were normal after that, 5 days medium flow

  3. i am vegetariain and have long heavy periods but most likely you are simply not getting enough iron, you could take a vitamin but really its nothing to worry about. i'd love to have lighter and shorter perids!!

  4. Maybe you aren't getting enough iron? Or it could be just that your periods aren't regular yet. You may want to check in with your Dr. and see what's up. But don't be worried or anything, it's probably fine.

P.S. Being a vegetarian shouldn't affect your period, since you are still getting all the nutrients you need. But you may want to visit your Dr. to make sure you ARE getting all the nutrients you need.

Hope I helped and good luck :)

  5. Sweetie,

Mine are no different then other girls. I don't think a veggie diet makes any difference.

we don't know anything about you, so how can we answer this. I'd suggest you see your doctor just to be checked out.

  6. It depends on what type of vegetarian you are, as well as any health issues you may have had beforehand.  I am a vegetarian and mine are as heavy as they were when I ate meat years ago.

  7. I dont think anythings wrong with it. Some people are just different and their bodies react differently.  Im a vegetarian and mine are light and only last for a couple of days and i dont have alot of pain. My sister is also a vegetarian and hers are horrible and she has bad pain and hers last a long time. So i bet its just the way peoples bodies react

  8. You're probably not eating enough iron to make decent blood.  Take a multivitamin/mineral supplement daily.

  9. Make sure you eat a balanced diet. Iron is pretty easy to get, you don't need vitamins.
