  1. if none of you are home durring the day that is not a good setting for a dog to live in. they need lots of love and attention everyday - not to mention food, water, to be let out in the yard, ect.

    sorry!

  2. Sorry but wait until summer. That is if you are talking about getting a puppy.

But even if you are getting a dog, it is not fair to leave them home by themselves when you first get them.

  3. Feeding is not the issue, you could feed it at night and before you go to school, this problem is dogs are like babies, in the fact that they need lots of love and attention, not just a couple hours at night. It will be lonely during the day and miss you.

  4. you can get a doggie sitter, or put him in daycare, or you can leave him home with some food, your choice.

  5. You don't. You wait until you and your family have the time to properly care for a dog.

I'm sorry, but if you get a dog now when no one is at home all day, the dog will be the one to suffer.

  6. It's not fair to the dog just to leave it all day.  It's a major responsibility to own a dog.  Not a right just because you want one like you might want a certain game or a new outfit.

It's up to your parents to decide.  They are the adults who would be legally responsible and liable for vets bills, making sure it's looked after when you go on holiday, socialised, trained, exercised, insured....etc etc.

You seem to have lack of knowledge by just wondering how you would feed it.  There's much more to it than that!

Why not offer to walk neighbours' dogs or volunteer at your local shelter if you are old enough?  This way you can spend time with dogs but not have the responsibility of owning them.

  7. Talk to your family and tell them what you think..

  8. feed her when u get up and again when u finish school

  9. Feed it twice a day.

Once about an hour before you leave for school (to give it time to go outside & do it's business), and again around dinnertime.

  10. I thinks if you mom and dad say no then the answer would have to be no.

You'll just have to wait till you're old enough for your own place.

  11. Talk with your parents first.  If they feel you are ready for this responsibility then...

Perhaps you could start with a puppy during summer vacation so you and your dog can bond and you have the time to housebreak, train, have play time, start a feeding schedule, etc.  Over the summer gradually lengthen the time you and your family leave the dog alone (with dog toys & chew toys that keep him/her occupied and happy) until he's on the work/school schedule that will come in the fall.

Adjust the feeding schedule just as gradually until your pet is fed/watered and walked in the mornings before you would leave for school and then fed and walked again after you would be returning from school.

Do your homework and then have your play time together.  Good luck!
