PM http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imtiaz-Sheikh-c64290 Hasina persuades the Chief Selector Akram Khan to come back – Cricket News Update
The chief selector of the Bangladeshi national side, Akram Khan, has been persuaded by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to resume his responsibilities with the selection committee. Akram had earlier resigned from his position citing unfair intervention from
the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kamal-c70069 in selection committee’s affairs.
The controversy started when the 15-member squad proposed by the selection committee was reduced to 14, reportedly by Kamal, who decided to omit left-handed batsman Tamim Iqbal. Akram had held Kamal solely responsible for the youngster’s exclusion, when
he said: "Tamim Iqbal was dropped by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mustafa-Kamal-c78122”.
Later on Akram resigned from his position, bitterly criticizing the president, "His regular interference in team selection has made top players worried about their place in the national squad. I have resigned because I was not enjoying my job”.
Adding to the controversy, the selection committee added Tamim back in the squad after getting positive feedback from the Bangladeshi Captain, Coach and the Cricket Operations Committee on Thursday evening.
The news about http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Akram-Khan-c42577’s returns is a new development and things seem to be getting normal again. Akram was convinced about reversing his earlier decision to resign by no less than the Prime Minister of the country herself.
“I was invited by the Prime Minster at her office on Thursday to discuss the issue,” remarked Akram. Khan reportedly held a meeting with PM Hasina to share his reservations regarding the president BCB’s unfair use of his position and power.
Finally the PM prevailed upon him and assured him that his concerns would be taken care off.
"She assured me I can work freely and no one will interfere from now on. Later through a board director she asked me to withdraw my resignation letter," said a satisfied Akram.
The chief selector seems to have won the battle against the president BCB for the time. Akram is a former test player and has been heading the selection committee after the World Cup last year. He also happens to be the uncle of in-focus young Bangladeshi
batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tamim-Iqbal-c2640.
