I got a PMDG aircraft for fs2004. I installed it and flew it in fs2004, but when I do fly, it doesn't show the gps or any instruments, it's black where the instruments should be. I don't know what I should do??

  1. their is either 1 of two things done wrong

you didn't install the GAU's into the gauge folder or you didnt install the whole thing correctly

  2. I've had the 'black screen' problem before and I've found the way to fix it (thanks to some help from a forum or two).

Firstly, you need to have BOTH the 'regular' PMDG Boeing 747-400 AND the PMDG Boeing 747-400F (freighter) installed into your system. I'm guessing you torrented the passenger version of the 747-400 or the such, which doesn't come with the 747-400F.

So to fix it, it's simple. Just find the freighter version of the PMDG 747-400 and install it completely. Then you're ready to fly...with all the screens working of course.

And about the 'strange' noise when you advance the thrust levers. It's caused by the fact that you've haven't configured the FMC (flight management computer) for the takeoff (V speeds, flap settings, etc.). The warning horn blares at you because of this.

If you need any further help (I needed a h**l of a lot to learn how to fly it properly), then surf the web for tutoriols, etc. or ask me if you really need to.

    Hope this helps!

  3. The noise you are hearing is a configuration alarm.  It means that something is wrong that conflicts with advancing the throttles.  It's intended to warn you about things that you didn't set up correctly prior to take-off (such as no flaps).

  4. FS2004 is a computer game, so your question belongs in the "GAMES" section.  The "AIRCRAFT" section is for questions about real aircraft, not pretend airplanes from a computer game.  Let's try to reserve this category for questions about real aircraft only, and not clutter it up with questions about computer games.

  5. It makes that sound because you did not configure your flaps
