Question:

POLL: Can as many Christians as possible answer this please?

Short answers are sufficient. This is my third try already ... I want to get an idea of what is the norm in Christian prayer, what most people do.

Some weeks ago in church I realized an elder praying to Jesus and yet shortly after it he said something like "you are our father". I found that strange.

So several questions ...

1) When you pray to God (Dear God ... ) do you believe you pray to the father and to Jesus at the same time?

2) When you address Jesus (Dear Jesus ...) do you address the father at the same time?

3) When you pray to the father (Dear father ...) do you mean the father plus Jesus?

4) When you pray with words like "Lord" and "Saviour", who do you mean, the father, Jesus, or both at the same time?

5) Do you ever pray to "the trinity", explicitely meaning the father, son and Holy spirit?

thx.

  4. I use all the names (God, Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit, Lord) interchangeably.  I believe in the Trinity, and so no matter what word I use, I am still praying to the same person/persons.  They are one in the same, or parts of a whole to me.

  5. 1.  Yes.  The Lord and the Father are one God.
