Well as all packers fans want Favre to start i have the feeling the establishment in GB will start Rodgers just to tick Favre off so they can trade him away later in the season. I think being that fans of the team are owners that Thompson and his staff might get run out of town before we know it.

In a fair competition the better man wins but in this case with how the Packers fans are treating Rodgers he should just ask to be traded to some place that will appreciate him like maybe Baltimore or Miami.

I honestly feel bad for Rodgers he has waited for 3 years to start and than Favre yanks the rug right out from underneath him.

This job is no longer rightfully Brett's. He gave it up in March. It doesn't matter if he's the better QB. Be a man and stick to the decisions you make.

The better quarterback should get the job and the better quarterback is Favre. Now that Favre is back, the Packers can't just let him sit on the bench all day, either they trade him or let him play. Aaron can get the job when Favre retires and stays retired.

They already made the decision to stick with Arron Rodgers. As for Farve he shouldn't have retired after the year he had in 2007 if he would have stayed I am sure they would have went with him.

In an open compatition for an NFL QB position against Favre, Rogers has a better chance of winning the lottery because for one reason Farve is one of the best in this era... The Packers have the best winning record over the span of years since he has been their QB...

Second, Farve played one of his best years last year and so he is still at the top of his game...If I was the owner of a multy million dollar team that was the youngest and just made it one game shy of the Super Bowl last year, I would not chance all those millions of dollars and a chance at the super bowl for a guy that hasn't ever even started a game in the NFL... Really, if he was so good as some say then he would not have been kept a backup for the past 3 years....... The Packers had several bad years before Bret became QB for them and if I were them I would not be in such a hurry to go back to lossing seasons... It is unheard of for a backup to replace a legend and be a winner as well other than Steve Young after Montana which many perfectionials agree that it could be close to impossible for that to happen again like it did for the 49ers...

  Brett Favre will get the job, no question about it. Brett Favre is a living legend and Aaron Rodgers is just some kid that has never started a game in his whole career. So who would you go with, one of the best QB's of all time or a kid that has never started a game in his whole career.

Rodger will get the opening day starter job.  Farve should get the the job. In the end farve will not be on the packer come opening day, he will get trade within a week.  But for the sake of your poll if they are on the same roster, If i the coach, I start Farve.  He give you the best chance at winning.  And if he fails or struggle, then going to Rodger is going to be a lot easier.  However if you start Rodgers, and Rodger's struggles early, the pressure to put Farve in is going to be too much.  Therefore if your the packers You should start Farve.

They are pretty firm on Rodgers getting the job. And, he wasn't that bad  the game where Favre got injured in Dallas. Though it's hard because I can't imagine Brett Favre without green and gold on.

I think Rodgers will get the job. I am so disappointed with Ted Thompson's management style that I wouldn't put it past him to hand the starting job to Rodgers even though Favre will give them the best shot at a ring.

I think Favre should have the job, but he's been alienated by Green Bay's management so I don't think he'll be judged fairly in the "open QB competition."
