  1. I'm trying to trade my SUV in for a compact, but I'm not sure where to put the kids, maybe the trunk? that seems to be where the most room is?

  2. Yes...I made some holes on the floor of my car and have to 'Fred Flinstone' my way to destinations

    Yabba Dabba Do!

  3. We don't wait until the tank is on empty, we fill up when we have 1/2 a tank...saves us a few dollars a week

  4. The mr. just told me this morning the $120.00 bucks that did not fill the tank yesterday was depressing.

I also have a child in the hospital a good 6 hours away (round trip) that we can not afford to even go see.

So yes we have drastically changed things around here. Work, appointments and if we are lucky we can stop along the way to buy food. I told mr I have no problem giving up internet, we do not go to town to eat or go on drives much anymore at all.

At least the job mr has now has not gone away like his other job......people here are moving out for no work but these people also do not own. Empty houses are showing up all over.

Told the mr we should invest in a wagon and hook it up to the work horse we have lol, wouldn't that be a site!!

  5. Yes.  We purchased a Prius, don't drive the Mercedes anyomore.  With all the driving we do, we are actually saving $200 per month even with the additonal car payment.

  6. I cringe every time I fill up my car - but so for I honestly haven't.

My mom put a little tiny bit of nail polish remover in her gas tank and it worked great. It made the gasoline last longer. She used to fill her tank up once a week, but now she fills it up every other week. We both take back roads instead of high ways which also helps.

  8. well i don't drive but my family has changed the habits a bit.

we just take one car, preferrably the one that uses less gas.

we have a hybrid and we fill up the tank when and only we find 'decent' prices.

  9. I now rarely go to the places I love like the mall or an Italian restaurant... I might be purchasing a moped next month...

  10. The gas prices have not effected my everyday driving habits.  However, I am very concerned about going on vacation.  I can't imagine driving hours away from home with these gas prices.  So we probably won't be going on vacation this year.

  11. I drive my husbands truck and he drives my car cheaper and better on gas obviously (I don't work so don't drive much) that is about it!!

  12. Yes

I dont go out whenever I feel like it

    It sucks

    I stay in mostly now

  13. I try to combine errands to get them done in one trip, but for the most part I my driving habits are the same.

  14. Got a motorcycle.  It's not just for fun either.  I drive it when it is really cold and even raining at times.  The gas mileage is great though.

  15. No... no effect whatsoever.

  16. I do not get on the interstate anymore when I go to or from work. I go two lane, 60 mph instead of 70.
