  1. I have'nt a clue hon. ll

  2. Modern chess wasn't 'invented'... it is an evolved game. It has roots well back in ancient Egypt, but nothing like the rules or even the pieces of modern chess were seen until India, as mentioned in an earlier answer, and post-India. Some rules, like castling, en passant, and the two-space first move for pawns were added or only generally accepted well after chess became thoroughly recognisable in its modern form, leading occasionally to some confusion in study of the earliest chess theory, when a master's analysis shows a move that was clearly worse than the move which was not then accepted as legal.

However, the first game called 'chess' was in India.

  4. This is not a poll type question.  If 2,000 people say last Tuesday, then all 2,000 are wrong.

The earliest recorded instance was the 6th century AD in India.   I was not a big thing so it was probably around a long time before someone casually mentioned it.  If that 214 AD or 312 BC no one knows.

  5. 200 AD this was from the people in china.

  6. 6th century - The game Chaturanga probably evolved into its current form around this time in India.
