Question:

POLL: What accent should I learn to imitate?

I want to "learn" an accent. I think it'd be fun! I have a very generic American accent; I don't pronounce certain words differently (e.g., people with new york and boston accents skip the 'r' sound a bit or switch it to an 'ah' or 'h' sound; southerners make their 'r' s sound like 'uh')

Side story about accents/My reason to want one:

A few years ago, my manager and two of her friends went to a cafe and her friends saw a guy they used to work with. "Oh no, I hope he doesn't see us!" "He was such a creep!" the friends said; but alas, he saw them and came over. My manager, who had never met the guy, whipped out her favorite small-country-town-girl-accent (her "Fargo" accent) and procceded to annoy the heck out of the creep and thus keep him away.

  2. learn a french accent! or maybe a really heavy mexican accent! :]

    hahaa, good luck :]

  3. australian or new zealand

  4. I'm an indian(dot on the head kind) guy born and raised in america. I can do indian, chinese, japanese, british, australian, french, german, mexican, and hillbilly and let me tell you the hillbilly, mexican, and indian accents by far get the biggest laughs and they're fun to do too!

  5. Sweetheart, a correction.

I'm an Indian and I speak in a British accent.

I don't think that there is a uniform Indian accent. You have a south Indian accent, a Bihari accent, a Maharashtrian accent, a Bengali accent. OMG, it's a different accent in every state. (Yea, I know, I've always had this Henry Higgins quality. :D )

So far, the most annoying accent is the Bihari version of English. OMG, it soooooo annoying.

  6. RUSSIAN HAHAHAHAH

I used to imitate Russian accents to people all the time and it was always funny :)

Or Chinese accents are fun too. Whenever long distance telemarketers phone me I either pretend to speak chinese or put on my chinese accents and for some reason they never phone back hahaha

  7. Australian.

Easy and very annoying when used in extended periods on time.
