There's a lot going on in my life, and I've always struggled with Depression/Thoughts of Suicide.

I used to do things that were really bad, like cutting, burning, etc.

Looking for more healthy outlets.

What do you do??

  1. Man, don't resort to those things...life can and is hard for the most of us, but deal with it the right way. No one deserves to be cutting themselves or whatever. Talk to someone you trust about what's going on in your life....sometimes all you need is someone to listen. Maybe you should try a therapist. Don't be afraid to talk to them. When I'm bummed or something like that, usually I'll go running or try to find something that keeps me busy and my mind off of whatever like, playing a video game or looking up funny/silly things. Sorry this is long, but I wish you the best of luck. Hang in there.

  2. The way to "feel better" without doing any harm or causing further problems is to "SLEEP"

  3. I try to hold onto something really important to me, like the thought of my husband who loves me.  I tell myself not to give in to the depression, and it helps a lot when I see him smiling and he holds my hand.

When I'm alone, I try to draw, play the piano.  I also try to think of funny scenes from movies of ppl who are sadder or angrier than me, for example:

Sad=Lydia from Beetlejuice, talking about how she is "utterly alone."

Angry=Jack Nicholson throwing his eggs at Adam Sandler, saying "I SAID OVER EASY!!!"

Its rough, but you have to keep trying.  Also think of your loved ones, and how much they would all miss you if you went away....which Im sure they would!!

  4. I have taken up scrapbooking, and painting ceramics.  The sense of satisfaction after a nice page or a nice ceramic piece is great.

If you want to write, why dont you keep a journal on your computer.. if you dont want him to be able to read it, you can save it on an external hard drive so there is no chance he can read it unless you give him the hard drive. You can name it something weird.

  5. play video games

  6. well the best thing to do (as i think) is to meditate yourself....

choose a place where you can be alone and relaxed...concentrate on your breath...exhale and inhale...keep concentrating on it...feel the air as it goes through your nostrils to your lungs....

i am just telling because it's what i'm used to do when i feel down and it works for me..it is worth trying...and you know what, suiciding yourself is the most idiotic thing you can ever do...life is precious ..live it...i think meditation will help you a lot....

  7. I write.  Just write anything. That usually helps.  If that doesn't I play computer games

  8. well, what i would if i were you would take a long hot shower and just unwind,

also you should talk to someoene about your problems.

    Hope that helps

  9. in your darkest hours my darling, pray x

  10. Eat stray contacts

  11. well i dont have a job right now im 17, therefore no money! i  get it from my parents.lol. but if i did have money i would def go to a spa or shopping or just get out of the house go for a walk and get like an iced cap or something to eat. but when i dont... i just go to my room, listen to music.. try to get my mind off of everything.

  12. Well i take a walk or walk to a river.

  13. working out is great not only because its been proven to be good for mental health..but it gives you something to do with all that energy

personally..i get lost in my exercises...i guess ADD has its perks

  14. I cut as well, but recently I decided to get a diary. I know it sounds corny, but if there's a problem I can quickly run upstairs, write down how I'm feeling and breathe slowly until everything is written down and the bad feelings go away. But I'm sure there is a better outlet than this.

Good luck with finding a good healthy outlet -x- =)

  15. Do something that makes you happy.  Watch a television show, play a video game, take a day trip to someplace I've been meaning to see, or go visit a friend.  There are so many other things to do that depression shouldn't be a thought at all.

If it is a thought, talk to someone about it, it's better than cutting/burning.

  16. I go to God because humans were not made to handle overwhelming immense amounts of stress, after awhile they get depressed, or think of suicide, or have anxiety attacks, etc. and there's nothing wrong with going to one who can handle all of that when we cannot. He'd like to have a relationship with us when we're feeling fine too though. Why escape something when God can make it okay to stay? Get tired running all your life like that eh? I'm not talking religion or church or christianity or whatever, I'm talking GOD. Objects and people and escapes will only fail us, they won't last, they won't satisfy or fulfill. Yeah, maybe temporarily but that's it. God is forever and His help and love for us is forever.

  17. i m not advising u to do this but i have a nap or drink

  18. I got fed up of feeling like everything was too much, so I dragged myself into town and bought myself a really beautiful, expensive notebook. Now I keep a diary, but it's not a diary of what I did in the day, it's a diary of feelings, poetry, short stories. I write to relieve the feelings of suicide and depression. I collect things that remind me of good times, like tickets from the train on the day I went to town with my friends, and keep them in my scrapbook. Writing down how you feel is a really good way of letting it all out.

  19. Go shopping

  20. I have has the same feelings and found salvation in music...metal to be specific.  Bands like Korn, Linkin Park, Marilyn Manson, and Children of Bodom are good to get those feelings out.  My friends helped a lot to get me through too.

  22. You need to get out more....excersise and join local social groups.

  23. dont go shopping like some of the little girls here tell you to do!!...you'll just spend your money and then be broke and that will give you more reason to be depressed...i usually pack a backpack with some water a sandwich some chips etc and take a nice long bike ride...excersize really helps with stress, you will get some nice fresh air on your face and you'll be surrounded by the beauties of nature. good luck sweety

  24. I take drugs...

  25. Get into a good exercise program.  Healthy living, healthy lives.  You will enjoy aerobics.  Start with low impact then work your way up to high inpact aerobics.
