Here is how I handle your question. I only report the following since this is an open forum discussion website:

1 - If someone makes a bonified threat to another, I will report it.

2 - If someone posts one of those answers that takes up 6 or more pages of blank space, I will report it because that ruins the question for the asker and there is no call for that. People can't read the answers of others and that screws the asker out of getting answers.

3 - SPAM. People who purposely abuse the site in order to try to get people to click on a link so they can get business or customers. That has no place here.

Other than that, I leave things go. I don't want to be a "social policeman". Snitching is despicable to me. But I will report a threat. Absolutely. Folks need to stay safe.

I think reporting is a responsible thing to do.  You can't respond to the answerers so ignoring, reporting and blocking are my only offenses or defenses.  There are those that come on her just to incite a riot.  Asking sophomoronic questions is neither responsible or informative.  The fact that they violate the R n Rs is enough for me.  If someone truly wants honest answers they should state that along with their immature questions.  Get me?  Sometimes Yahoo takes a question out all on their own without a report.

No, I only report if it's spam. I thumbs down any offending answers and ignore disturbing questions.

But if I'm really angry (whether the Q made me angry or not) I'll give a sarcastic answer.

i mark too offensive as abuse but keep an open mind.  everyone has their opinions and is a good thing to share with people when asked.  i never make it a point of being judgemental and give thumbs down when people are.  i try and give the best advise i have to offer with my experiences in life.  i never force my opinion and never preach.  i would like to know how how to contact the authorities.  i just saw a question asking how to slit your wrists.  it's been deleted already but stuff like that needs more immediate attention.
