  1. Wow...do they sleep????

Mine are grown, but I live with my daughter and granddaughter..she's 6, and goes to bed at 8 on school nights, during this summer, she's going between 8:30 and 9:30....she sleeps in the mornings, so it's not a big deal!!

  2. 10 - school nights 9 pm

    13 - school nights 10 pm

Weekends and summer for both is negotiable depending on what is going on and their behaviour.

  3. My daughter is 15 months and is in bed by 6:30-7, any later and she just get grouchy.

  4. To be quite honest my son goes to bed normally around 10PM.  And he's 6 months old.  But when he gets in school it will be around 9 or so, depending on how he acts.  I think that 7:30 is too early.  Kids need rest, this is true, but they aren't newborns.  I would say 8:30 or 9.  Maybe later, but to be honest I'm more liberal with kids and bedtimes, etc.

On a side note, just for clarification to the people thinking that I won't think that in a few years, I have raised more than just my own child.  My 8 year old godson was in my care for a good chunk of the first part of his life and I raised my brother from word go.  I was this way with both of them and will be the same with my real son.  And both of them have turned out alright so far.

  5. Good on you for sticking  to a very good bedtime. I am the same I put my daughter to bed at 7pm, bath at 6.30pm and she is fresh as a daisy in the mornng. Children that age need plenty of sleep to take all all the new information daily and esspecially for school. It is far more difficult for you as a mum (and I know too) putting you children to bed early especially when others in the street are playing out still! I have black out curtains and yes I do sometimes feel guilty especially when my child does not want to go to bed but she is a happy clever little thing and all her energy is needed to explore the world!! Good on you!

  6. 2 years old, she goes to bed at 8 when she doesnt take a nap but then 10 when she does

  7. Isabella is 5 and goes to bed around 7.00 - 7.30. At weekends its more around 8.00 - 8.30

Alfie is 3 and goes to bed around 6.00 - 6.30 at weekends it is mainly the same.

  8. I dont have any children so technically my children never go to bed. I am a terrible mother to my imaginary children

  9. no kids but my brothers are 7 and 9

they go to bed at 9

    8:30 school nights!

dont feel guilty your just being the mother you know how to be!:]

    god bless

  10. I have a 6 yr old boy. During school, his bedtime is at 8pm, and other nites, it is 10pm.. Sometimes later depending on the circumstance (sleepover, family time, etc)..

  11. During the summer when it's still light out, we let our daughter stay up until about 8:15 or so, because we usually eat outside on the patio and like to enjoy the evening. But she also usually is watched my her grandparents in the summer when the two of us are working, and my parents have always been late risers, so she makes up for that lost sleep.

The rest of the year she usually goes to bed around 7:30. Being off by an house doesn't bother her, luckily she's an easy child and we don't see it as being a big deal.

Oh, yeah, I should mention, she just turned 4.

  12. my 1, 3 and 6 year olds go to bed at 7.30

my 14 year old goes to bed  at 10.30

  13. My 6 year old and 2 year old go up at 7.30pm

My 10 year old goes to bed at 9.00pm.

These are their bedtimes whther there is school, wekkends or holidays.

  14. 10-8-2-1

The older 2 at about 9-9:30

    The little ones about 10ish

  15. 3

they go to bed 8:30 and under on weekends

and during the week some where around 7 maybe a lil earlyer

  16. My children are almost-7, almost-5, 3, and 13 months.  They all go to bed at 8:30 year round.  The oldest is usually up by 7 am, and the other 3 between 7 and 8.  This is their routine year round, as I homeschool.  Whatever bedtime works for you all.

  17. My 6, 5 and 20 month old all go to bed between 8:15 and 8:30.  It is actually still light until about 9pm so I bought darkening drapes and they are fabulous!  They help a lot at naptime and keep it cooler too;)

  18. I don't have any kids but my friends mother has her plus 4 other children. There ages are

    12-7-4-2 and 4 months old.

12 year old goes to bed around 9:30-10:00.

7,4 and 2 year old go to bed 6:30-7:00ish

and the four month old goes to bed roughly around 8:30.

  19. my daughter is almost 2 and my son is 4 i usally give them bath about 7- 730 and their in bed for 8ish and i stay pretty close to the routine but not always they have their special occasions or times when we cant control it and it does suck even my 4 year  old says its not bed time because the moons not out LOL oh well what you going to do were the parents its up to us to do whats best

i should also add that they sleep untill 7-8 in the morning which i can live with and my youngest still takes a nap on top of it i hear you the poster who said her neice goes to bed at 2 in the morning thats how my nieces are it drives me crazy i like to be in bed around 10-11 i need time to myslef i couldnt have my kids up till 12-1 and sleep till 11 12 in the afternoon i guess it is truly to each their own

  20. My son is nearly 6 years old. He goes to bed at 7pm on a school night + 8pm on a non-school night.

  21. MY sister and I are 14 and 9,

14 - School ngihts: 10:30 Summer and weekends/ whenver she wants.

9: 9:00 school and 10:00 weekends and summer

  22. My 8 year old goes to bed at 8:00-8:30 on school nights 9:30 school weekends....10:00ish....summertime hours.  I use to let her stay up later on weekends and holidays during school...but I found that caused her to be grumpier the next day and harder to get back in the swing when school started back.

  23. It's too early!

5-6yo can go to bed around 20:30-21:00

    8-9yo can go at 21:00

After age 10 you can let them stay until 22:00

After age 13 they should go to bed on their own when they decide to.

  24. My daughter is 2 yrs old and I put her to bed around 7-8, sometimes but rarely 9 pm.

I smetimes feel guilty when it is light outside, but I Need my alone time with my husband or for myself.

When I would stay at my dads me and my half sister had to go to bed at 8 and I always thought it was mean because it could be light outside, but now I understand.

My stepchildren ages 8 and 11 stay with us on the weekends and some holidays. We mostly put them to bed around 10 pm, but sometimes as a reward for being very good let them stay up til midnight.

  25. My children are 8 6 and 6 months. The younger two go to bed around 8:30, 8 for my 6 year old if its a school night. My older child usually goes down between 8:30 and 9. I say kudos to you for sticking to a strict bedtime. Children thrive on routine so while they might not be to thrilled to have to go to bed before some of their peers, they are probably a lot more rested and ready to learn in the morning.

  26. Mine are 3 and 6 on school days they go between 7-7.30 depending on what time they are up that morning!!!

On non-school days it`s usually a little later say maybe 8 but they are both quite early risers(no-matter what time they go to bed!) so are ready for bed by then anyway!

On rare occasions/special treats they will stay up later if theres a reason for it.

Whatever works for you as a family, everyone is different!

  27. my little boy is almost 3 and he goes to bed at 7pm, but he gets to stay up late if he stays at grandmas.

  28. I am 18 and I dont have a "set" time by my parents but my own body has a "set" time for it self and thats usualy 9:00-9:30

My sister is 21 and she doesnt even have a set time for her body....she goes to bed at 2:30am and gets up at 7:00am for work.

  29. My son is 5 and goes to bed around 10:00-10: 30 but he's not in school yet. When he starts school I'll probably move it up to 9:00-9:30. He's always been a night owl and never needed a lot of sleep. He didn't even take naps as a toddler. If I put him to bed at 7 he'd be wide awake at 2 or 3 am lol. Don't feel guilty though- some kids need more sleep than others. If your kids are tired at 7 then that's fine. If they're wide awake and obivously not ready for bed then it's a little odd to send them to bed anyway- it would kind of seem like a punishment. But if they're actually falling asleep at 7 and sleeping all night then just consider yourself lucky!

  30. im a mother to a 8 month old, he goes to sleep about 9pm.

but i dont think u need to be guilty coz as a mother ur doing the best for ur kids, its important that they get a good nights sleep. sometimes u have to be cruel to be kind thats all part of being a parent. i think between 7.30 - 8pm is fine to put kids to bed, but ur their mother and u know best. takecare hun x

  31. the 14, at 9 or if she has to talk about teenage stuff with me 10,

the 9 year old who thinks he is 10, will stay up till dawn if I allow he says, but by 9 he is fast a sleep. School is so positively challenging for them, they are exhausted by night.

When I was young I went to sleep by 7:30, but times have changed. its always good to put them to sleep early, don't feel guilty. giving kids an adults time table is depriving of their childhood.
