middle class, first generation to get there both my parents were brought up on sink council estates with little money. now both have high powered jobs and a nice house.

That would all depend on who's theory. from the Marxist prospective I would be working class, however from Parsons point of view I would be lower middle class. Moreover do you believe that there is still a class system in the UK

Im working class cos I was brought up on a council estate and my dad was a lorry driver.

But Im lower middle class cos I went to Grammar School and have a degree.

Am I middle class cos I own a house and Im a 'professional'?
