I'll be a freshman in the fall, and I was just wondering if it's true, that you have to drink and seriously party to be popular? I don't want to sound like a goody two shoes freak for asking that, but I'm just not into drinking and stuff, and that's what all my high school friends say is going on.

  1. thats not being a goody 2 shoes

    thats being smart.

you dont have to party hard and drink to be popular.

just get involved in with your school activities, join clubs, heck run for student council.

just dont try too hard to be popular.

  2. nah. being popular is overrated in high school. I myself have my group of friends and thats it, im not like mr. popular. The thing is i hang out with the "right crowd" and we dont really drink or do drugs or anything like that. Just avoid it, play a sport that will occupy your time and your effort/energy.  Focus on your studies and sports most importantly then social life. Because if the popular people are failing school yet they have alot of friends they are getting no where in life while if you have your little group of friends and are doing well in school you will be sucessful.

good luck! and high school is awesome your gonna love it

  3. It's sad to say this but people like people who look nice and have a beautiful face. However that isnt all, you have to be easy to talk to. If u can, be funny. Be one of those who answers alot of questions in class, the more u talk the more ppl will notice u. STAND OUT. i have bling on my shirts, not those gansta big ones, diff from everyone else

  4. yesss, most popular girls do drink and smoke both,i know, cause i drink and smoke.

And i know you may say "ill nvr do that"

but trust me,one day you will, but for now try to stay away,i made that mistake last year as a freshman, and i ended up losing so many friends, cause i partyed too much

  5. nahh you dont have to even if you go to parties where there is drinking no one will notice if you just drink soda. but never leave ur drink unattended. dont do anything you dont want to but dont lechture others about it. its their choice. and its okay to have one drink you wont get drunk but if you really want to.

  6. no don't drink, party, smoke, do drugs, or have s*x to be popular, stay away from those people you could end up doing something you totally regret, try and be popular with your own circle of friends that are not into partying drugs, alcohol or whatever. I heard that the popular ones are usually the ones who are nice and are really outgoing, but you don't have to be popular to be happy, and don't try to hard because that might annoy people

  7. Naw thats what your friends think is necessary to do, but dont drink or do any of that! Thats a turn off to me especially if you're a beautiful girl.

Stay a good girl and i promise you that if you do stay that good girl and do whats right and not do what everyone else is doing you will stand out in a good way! and i also promise you that LOVE will find you, just to let you know. . .True Love in other words!!

  8. My advice is don't worry about being popular. That c**p is worthless by the time you graduate, if you do. And don't be so concerned about what people think about you.

  9. Popularity isn't going to matter once you're out of high school. You can drink, have s*x, and do drugs all you want just to fit in (this isn't me saying you should! You shouldn't!), but that isn't going to float when you're in college. Just study hard and be friends with who you're comfortable with. If you see people drinking, forget about them. They're making their own path, but you should make a better one. You'll have time to test it all out once you're older and can handle yourself, but right now you shouldn't. Just focus on your academics (which will really bring you through life) and forget the peer pressure, because colleges will really be looking into your high school records. You don't want to have a 4.5 GPA and lose your spot in Princeton because they found out that they caught you drinking in high school. Besides, being popular isn't that great. Most of the popular kids in my school just talk about each other all day long and at the end of the day, they drink and pretend they all like each other. It'd suck to be in their shoes.
