The outgoing CEO of International Cricket Council, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Haroon-Lorgat-c61719 and other ICC officials feel the under consideration Pakistan Premier League, if held successfully, could play a key role in bringing international cricket back to the snubbed country, sources
from inside the Pakistan Cricket Board claimed.
A source from within the Pakistan Cricket Board told media persons on Saturday that the chairman of the board and chief operating officer met the top brass of the apex cricketing body in Dubai earlier this week and told them about their plans of organizing
a Twenty20 competition, Pakistan Premier League (PPL), which will involve foreign players as well.
The proposal got a positive response from the ICC officials, according to the PCB source.
"The ICC officials agreed that the PPL, if held successfully with the participation of some foreign players, could go a long way in reviving international cricket in Pakistan," said the PCB official while speaking to reporters.
The source also said that the PCB chairman and COO requested the apex body to provide some assistance in convincing foreign players to participate in the Pakistan premier League, initially scheduled to be held in October this year.

International cricket teams have snubbed Pakistan since the terrifying militant attacks on the touring Sri Lankan cricket team bus in Lahore, in March 2009. In a bid to get international cricket back to Pakistan, the board had sought Bangladesh Cricket Board’s
help. The BCB officials had promised to send the Bengali tigers to Pakistan for a One Day International and a T20 International match at the end of last month, but a petition filed with the Dhaka court against the itinerary led to its postponement for a minimum
of four weeks.
The source claimed that during last week’s meeting with ICC officials, issues regarding the postponed http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 tour of Pakistan were also raised. While ICC officials expressed sympathies with the snubbed country, they refused from interfering in any bilateral
arrangement between the two neighbouring boards.
