PREEMIES: Synagis shots, for RSV prevention...was your baby fussy afterwards?

My twins were 8 weeks early and spent a little other a month in the NICU.

They had one Synagis shot in the NICU and now is RSV season here in Florida.

So we went to a pulmonologist and got them the shots on Tuesday.

The rest of this week they have been having trouble sleeping and been a little grouchy.

The pulmonologist said don't bpther with tylenol but now I wonder if tylenol would have helped.

That shot really hurt them they both screamed for a long time.

Thanks,

Kristen

  1. my daughter had the RSV shots and she was only fussy the day of the actual shots. You can give them tylenol if there weight is good and it's actually on the box, if not I'd talk to the doctor. Also, I find infant motrin works much better for pain relief then the tylenol does.

  2. My son had synagis for about six months, and they didn't seem to bother him.  It's possible he slept more the day he got the shot, but other than that, same as always.  Maybe they're teething?
