PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS: David Moyes not ready for players leaving, Samir Nasri ready for season
As the transfer market enters its final month, while some clubs are bent on adding to their squads by continuing to splash the cash. Others are trying their best to hold on to what they have.
Everton is one of the clubs in the English premier league that regularly have players taken away from them, just when any young home grown player steps up his game big clubs come and take him away. Wayne Rooney was probably a prime example of this.
Everton manager David Moes has said that he intends to keep all his players at Goodisen Park till the close of the transfer window. He especially singled out Mikel Arteta and said that he will not be going anywhere.
A number of players from Everton have been linked with different clubs and rumoured to be leaving the club. Moyes said that he is not willing to let go of any of his players and would make sure that his squad remains the same. Moyes however added that if a good lucrative offer comes along he may consider selling a player or two. But only if he believes he would be able to buy someone before the end of August 31st.
Moyes was asked about his ace midfielder Mikel Arteta who has strongly been linked with a move to Barcelona or Arsenal. The manager said that there is no way that Arteta would be leaving the club; he added that he has become an integral part of the club and it would take a huge offer for him to leave.
Moyes had said earlier that anyone who wants to buy Arteta should come to Mersey side with bags full of money. He added that if the club needs funds we can always sell off some players and generate money, but for now there is no such requirement and that is why they would not really be selling any players.
The manager added that he has worked hard to put this team together, and if he once again has to sell off players and bring in new ones he would be back to square one. He added that this is not the way he wants to run the club and expects the board to understand that too. Moyes said that till now the board and the fans share his views and as long as all of them are on the same page there would not be any problems.
Meanwhile Arsenal’s midfielder Samir Nasri who was left out of France’s world cup squad has said that he is eager to get on the pitch and play some serious football. He said that he cannot wait for the season to start and has worked hard in the off season to keep him fit.
Nasri did not have the best of seasons with arsenal last year; it was not due to his performance but unfortunate injuries. He said that he was very frustrated last season with the series of injuries, and later being dropped from the world cup squad made things worse.
The midfielder said that he has had 2 and a half months of not football, he added that it has been a frustrating time for him and now he is starving to play football.
The young French international said that when he received the news that he has not been selected in the world cup squad he was very shocked. He said he was suffering from depression and had a long talk with his manager Arsene Wenger. Nasri said Wenger gave him confidence and reassured him and said that you still have a lot of time.
