Question:

PROBLEM WITH HOTPLATES SWICTHING OFF

Hello

We've just had a new SMEG ceramic hob fitted by a reputable kitchen fitter. We think there's a major fault with the product as the hotplates keep switching off automatically, even when the its in use. They seem to stay off for much longer periods than they are on and we can't see how it can effectively cook anything.

Before we contact the fitter, is it because we are possibly doing something wrong or is it usual for ceramic hobs to act in this way (we've only used a gas cooker before this).

You're advice would be grateful appreciated.
