PROBLEMS WITH THE CRAZY "SPRING BREAKERS" on Cruises in March!?

Hi i really would like to go on the Norwegian Cruise to the Bahamas March 14-21 2009 with my boyfriend. It's our spring break from college - but i do NOT want it to be the "crazy spring break" kind of cruise. i rather have it be a more mature and less crazy crowd where we get to just relax and spend some great time together..

Do you think i'm going to run into some problems?

  1. I think it's hit or miss around that time of year. If you want a more mature crowd, I'd go for a more expensive cruise like on Princess or Celebrity. See if they have a similar cruise. If not, I cannot vouch either way for Norweigian as I've never cruised with them.

Just one word of advice, if you do happen to get stuck with a rowdy crowd, try not to let it get to you. I've read too many stories of people who let a rowdy crowd spoil their vacation. It's your vacation too... If there are loud or obnoxious passengers, just smile and move on. Go in and keep a positive attitude and you'll have a good time.

  2. I was on a Royal Caribbean ship this year during spring break and the college kids were rather well behaved.

Of course there was so much going on aboard the ship, it was kinda hard to tell who they were.

Since Carnival has the reputation for being the party ships, I would say there is more of a chance of wild and crazy antics on their ships than on NCL.

You are always going to have drunken idiots whereever you go, but the chances are pretty good that you will be safe from the "typical spring breakers."

  3. I went on a cruise during spring break and it was awful. The college crowd was not the problem.  It was the parents who brought the high-school and younger kids and did not supervise them.  It was an expensive cruise and the kids were out of control for the entire trip.  They were so outrageous that I will never do a cruise in or around Spring break time a again.  (They were even acting up at disembarkation, and out into the parking lot)

i have gone on about ten cruises since then and I try to pick Princess, or Celebrity.

  4. no you wont. most spring breakers cant afford cruises. and idnt think thell go on norwegian. so itll be some wat quiet. but if they are there the boats pretty bug to get away from then

  5. I would see if there is any cruises off the beaten track in carebian or bahamas. Maybe an panama or an transatlantic or even a meditereanan cruise could do? its longer flights but changes are that youll get of the spring break crowd. But Ill think that there is no need to wory. Cruises are four every one and ships security and staff will see that no one under 18 or 21 gets alcoholic beverages or that no one get to drunk. Cruise is generaly a safe and sound way to enjoy the world. Johan.
