PRS transmitter for College Class?

I got a list of materials needed for one of my college classes. One of the items is a PRS-RF unit with a UPC code: 0 09798 46452 9.

What excatly is a PRS transmitter? And where do I get a CHEAP one?

The link below tells you what a PRS transmitter is.  I'd check with your college bookstore to see if they had the units available.  Ask your instructor if they don't have any but I would think they would if it's a required item.
