The PlayStation Vita set to welcome Snake onto the console with the MGS HD Collection while the PlayStation Network emulates Steam as it launches PSN pre-load, which allows gamers to download a game before its official release.
Starting things off with the PlayStation Network’s latest feature and it turns out that the lack of having to put all the content on a disc will allow gamers to download games onto their consoles before their official release date and play them the second
the game is officially ‘released’.
What the means is that if a game is set to release on the PSN next week, gamers can download all the files of that particular game via the PlayStation Network, for a price of course, and then, come release day, when Sony gives the go-ahead, gamers can jump
right in right away and begin playing.
This frees players from having to download the game on release day and wait till the download and installation complete. PC’s leading online digital distribution platform, Steam, uses a similar technique and it seems the people at Sony took notice.
According to CVG, “The first PSN title to make use of this option will be Sorcery, a Move-powered action fantasy game.” It went on to state that the game would hit stores on “May 22 in (the) US and May 25 in (the) UK.”
One title that gamers will be looking forward to on Sony’s second generation handheld portable gaming device is the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, which has been announced for the console.
Gamers in the United States will get their hands on the High Definition remakes of Solid Snakes previous adventures on the 12th of June, while gamers in the United Kingdom will have to wait a little longer before Snake slithers his way into Europe
as the release date for the UK version of the HD Collection is the 28th of June.
The collection consists of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and is a title Sony is hoping will boost the sale of their faltering console.
