PS3, downloading queries

Question

hey! ok, i have a PS3 and a lap top and an 8GB usb flash stick, can i download from the internet and save it to the usb stick and then put into the PS3 and save it to my system? if yes, how do i go about this? thanks in advance :-)

if its USB, put it in one of the front USB ports on your ps3, then on the media crossbar go to the "Media" area and copy from the flash stick.  

my 80gb ps3 also has plugs for the mini flash and camera sticks.
