Question:

PS3 80GB - Canadian version?

I have recently bought an 80GB Playstation 3 from Canada and I'm using it in the UK, and it works in perfect order. However, the PS3 does not accept to play Playstation 2 or Playstation 1 Games due to "region restrictions", despite the fact that the manual states that playstation 2 games are playable. How do i solve this problem? How can i remove these restrictions? Are there any options on the PS3 System?

Any Help Will Be Much Appreciated, Thank You.

  1. im hopin this will work cause im a fellow ps3 user

go to timezone and switch it to a timezone in north america

    maybe thatll work...

  2. You misunderstand the manual.  The PS3 can only play PS2/PSX games from the country where it's made for.  A Canadian PS3 can only play Canadian PS2/PSX games.  It cannot play Japanese PS2/PSX games.

    There's no way around it.

  3. My best Answer would be reset the system but if you have memory all ready on the system and don't want to lose it put an SD card to hold the memory for the meanwhile.
