PS3 Corrupted how do i fix?

when i turn on my ps3 it says hard disk corrupted and when i restore it it says the same thing what should i do?

i would call sony about it. it should be fixable.

as for 360 people, this is the .01% of ps3's that malfunction, as opposed to the 33% of 360's. this is NOT made up. do some legit research on your system. it may have halo, but it will still break.

your going to need to buy a new hard drive the PS3 ues's the same hard drive as they do in laptops so go to bestbuy or where ever you buy computer stuff at tell them you need a new hard drive for your ps3 they will be able to help you

Its likely that the HDD has went bad or may have corrupted sectors on it, if you have a computer with sata on it I would say hook it up and see about doing a complete format and scan disk to see if anything wrong comes up if that doesn't fix it sony's customer support is pretty helpful if it still under warranty, if not I would suggest upgrading the HDD, is the HDD you have in it now the original, some just fail earlier then they are supposed to,

Note, although when you install a HDD the system formats some information needed for the Game OS to the hdd the Game OS is actually saved to a inaccessible rom chip on the main board of the PS3, that can only be accessed when the PS3 needs to.

Call Sony. I'm not sure about what the previews answerer said, because the system operating system is saved on the HDD (where else?) and probably it could get lost, so it would be safer to ask Sony to fix your problem.

PS: don't get an XBox 360, it would just increase your number of problem by 330 times (33%/0.1%=330:)
