Question:

PS3 Home Theater Advice Please- What Do I need?

I currently have an LG 42" 1080p LCD and a PS3. I am interested in purchasing a home theater system for about $1500. I will need a receiver and speakers. What can you suggest I use? I want to be able to maximize my PS3 and TVs capabilities, but I cannot go much over $1500. I do not want a home theater in a box either, I would rather buy a receiver and then speakers. I listen to a lot of music, and I am slowly building up my Blu-ray collection. I am not interested in Bose, so any other suggestions would be great. Thank you in advance.

  1. a pat on the back for pissing on bose.. they suck.. =D

well.. if it was me.. id go with my current set up and tweek it a bit.. Onkyo TX-SR705.. ($700).. Polk Monitor 40s for front ($350).. Polk CS1 center ($200). Polk Monitor 30s for rear ($250) and Polk PSW10 as sub ($200).. cost is a bit above $1500 but if you buy it at certain places it'll be cheaper.. a lot cheaper..

to ME in a small room is more than enough.. since the Onkyo and the Monitor 40 are bi-amp-able the sound is very nice..

  2. Now around $400 to $500 you should buy a receiver which decode new HD sound formats like Onkyo 605 or 606, Yamaha 663 or Sony 820 ( sold in May ). With $1000 left you' go for speakers and cables.

  3. Well Bose is great but since you hate them, use an Onkyo HTSP908. It's a great system, got it 4 weeks ago and it's bomb man. I was playing Call of Duty 4 for PS3, it sounded like War man it was awesome. My brother brought over his Wii and we were having a blast playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl

It was ****** awesome man. I swear your won't regret getting this. Get this it even has an iPod dock. You can connect it and listen to music in 7.1 surround sound hd. It is by far the best investment ever made. It's a great deal come on
